Introducing Magazine Surgery!

Designed to mimic post-cosmetic surgery glamor shots, these photographs are simply made by attaching pieces of magazines on the model’s face.

Cosmetic Typography Surgery

-

The brief, set by the International Society of Typographical Designers (ISTD), was to typographically explore the theme of fakery. This submission explored the fascinating parallels between the processes of cosmetic fakery in both the human body and typography. It was awarded with a merit. The publication was aimed at designers and typographers although it intends to be deceivingly medical related. It aims to entertain and educate the reader about typography. The two themes offer many similarities in ideas, language and imagery. These were exploited to create the final content, aesthetic and physical object which was finally bound using a sewing machine to reference medical stitching.
Special production finishes included binding, embossing, perforating, mixing of stocks and silver foiling. Only the bespoke silver foiling was outsourced.

“Brand Spirit” by Andrew Miller

Being a strategic agent at daytime, Andrew Miller is covering everyday objects in white paint for his project ‘Brand Spirit’ in his spare time. Miller is painting one branded object white, removing all visual branding, reducing the object to its purest form, every day for 100 days. He purchases each object for less than $10, it can be something he owns, something another person gives him, or something he finds. You can see more white objects and follow the project on his Tumblr.
